The twelve egg-shaped pieces of pottery that I sculpted for this performance are made of porcelain. Twelve alludes to the numbers on a clock face, the twelve months in a calendar year, and more generally to the passage of time and life. The action in both panels - the shattering of the pot in the left-hand video, and, in the second video, the act of disrobing and crossing the pottery circle - symbolize an abandonment of ego in time, and the discovery of Being.
